                                               CAMBO LES BAINS

         Village located in south west France in one of the three
french provinces of Basque Country the Labourd.
         The basque name Kanbo means that this place was
renowned for the quality of the spring waters. 
         CAMBO lies on the banks of river Nive and this the village has a hydropathic and thermal spa treating rhumatology,osteoarthritis and respiratory ailments.  
         Suffering from one of these disease the French writer and playwright Edmond Rostand came and attracted by the place,
had a huge villa built in 1906 on a headland with stunning views
on Pyreneans mountains. This house now owned by the local council
is worth a visit as well as a 17 th century church surrounded by Basque disc-shaped tomstones.
